One of our visionary goals is to establish churches in the surrounding 35 mile radius of OBBC. God allowed us to start Centralia Bible Baptist Church two years ago and it is now pastored by Tim Shellenberger. We are also in the process of establishing a church in Aberdeen which will be pastored by Jerald Mason. We believe our area will be transformed by more churches who will reach souls for Christ.
Another goal we have is to see men out of our church called and trained for the ministry. In 2005, Jim Cytacki (a layman began pastoring in Central Park before being called to pastor in Grandbury, TX in 2008. Scott Peace was also called and trained and is now pastoring Heritage Baptist Church in Tenino. Nate Skinner recently retired from the army and is now registered at Heartland Baptist Bible College to begin his training for the ministry. We have 10 students currently enrolled in Bible College and we have established Faith Bible Institute in our church to help train our lay people for the ministry.
In addition to seeing some of our goals fulfilled God has continued to bless us with opportunities with some unique ministries. The Triple R Boys Ranch is geared towards Christian young men struggling with their walk with the Lord. We own and operate our own cemetery which has already been a blessing to our members and their families. And Olympia Baptist School is a place where the children (K-12) of our church can learn in a Christ- centered environment. We cannot praise God enough for all He has done for us here at OBBC.
